Just another day in the Macleod Household…heh. Just kidding. I was helping out at Elsie’s 6th Birthday Barbie Party this afternoon! Barbies, stick on earrings, coloured hair chalk and glitter tattoos, what’s not to love!? I currently have a glittery snail tattoo on my hand as I type this…part of me is wondering how long it’s going to stay on for, but another part of me doesn’t want to try scraping it off as it’s such a happy wee snail!
It’s so good being back in the same city as my sister and able to go along to the kids’ parties again! Elsie’s actual birthday isn’t until Sunday…who knows, maybe her and my brother Ali will have another member of the family to share their birthday with…
How gorgeous are these two!? And how happy are we that the torrential rain and lightning storms took a break for their engagement party!? So so happy!
We had such a lovely afternoon/evening/night out at my aunt and uncles celebrating Sarah and Ollie’s engagement with family and friends. Delicious food made by my uncle, as always, and a fantastic playlist put together by Sarah & Ollie which I will be listening to on a regular basis. So crazy to think Baby Mac will be walking around at their wedding!
It’s funny how some days I do absolutely nothing and wonder what I’m going to take a photo of, and other days I do loads and completely forget to take a photo…this photo was taken around 8pm, on a catch up date with some of my College Girlies. We had a delicious dinner and then a delicious, decaf, beverage at Starbucks for dessert! Wild Monday night!
It always blows my mind when months go by between our catch ups, but it only feels like it’s been a few weeks since we last saw each other. Time is moving crazy fast! I’m very thankful for these friendships. I remember being so nervous to go to College…10 years (that can’t be right…surely it’s not been 10 years??) ago, worried I wouldn’t make any friends, because I wasn’t a party girl and much preferred drinking tea and eating a slice of cake, or two, that’s as wild as I got. It was most definitely an answer to prayer when I became friends with 4 lovely ladies, who also liked cake!
Happy Mother’s Day to this wonderful woman! We had Mum, Ali and Lena round for a delicious (if I do say so myself) roast beef dinner to celebrate Mum, and she ended up doing the dishes before and after lunch…she just can’t help herself.
I’m very thankful for all that my Mumsy has done for me over the last 28 (and 3/4) years so it is nice to repay her in even the smallest of ways, like a nice dinner with (half) the family, and a random plant from Marks & Spencer’s. Love you, Mumsy! Please can you look after Jasper next weekend?
We had a very chilled Saturday night, consisting of Indian Takeaway and GTA 5 with Iain, and then binge watching the final episodes of Stranger Things Season 1 when Iain headed back to his ship. It was a good night!
We kept our trip to Glasgow quiet as we were attending Matthew’s cousin, Alison’s, Surprise 30th Birthday at The Corinthian Club on Saturday night. She was most definitely happily surprised! It was such a wonderful night, filled with happy faces, laughter, chatting, dancing, delicious food, cake and lots and lots of jelly beans! I was debating whether I could just tip the whole jar of jelly beans in to the various pockets of my camera bag…I’m impressed to say that I managed to resist doing that, but also a little sad…I’d love some jelly beans right now!
Happy Birthday, Ali! In honour of you, I’m watching Harry Potter as I type this.
First cheesecake of the year! Well, not really sure it can be called a cheesecake…I didn’t use a recipe and I definitely put too much cream and not enough cream cheese in, and said cream wasn’t whisked long enough, and the whole thing wasn’t in the fridge long enough, so it was quite sloppy. It was more like raspberry and chocolate pudding, with a crumbly, buttery, biscuit base, but it was delicious!
We managed to squeeze in one last hang out with the Morrison’s this afternoon. Yay! Elsie ran up to Matthew and asked if he’d like to play “The Make Up Game”, thinking this meant plastering make up all over his face he quickly said “Eh, eh…maybe Trina would like to play!”, but I said we’d both join in the fun. Turns out the game is actually called Party, Party, Party! What you have to do is collect five accessories, and one present, on your way round the board before you can go to the party. Very thrilling, and also quite tense, as there is risk of your bag falling over and dropping an accessory, or a friend calling you up and forcing you to remove an item from your bag. Serious stuff! Matthew actually ended up having loads of fun, despite being last to the party.
It was short but sweet, and we’ll hopefully be back North again soon for more of the same fun 🙂
