What a special day!! I love photographing weddings, they make me so happy, and when it’s a friend’s wedding it makes me even happier and feels incredibly special; knowing that they have found someone to love and cherish them for the rest of their lives. It’s a huge privilege being trusted to capture all the moments from the biggest day of a couples life so far.

Chris and Katherine are two incredibly loving people, with great concern for the wellbeing of others! I know that sometimes it’s just not possible to get round every single one of your wedding guests and helpers on the day, but Katherine made it her mission to try her best, not wanting to miss anyone out, making sure everyone knew how thankful she was that they were able to join them on the day. I almost had to tear her away so we still had time for formal portraits!

This was my first Edinburgh wedding with the reception in the city centre instead of the outskirts, and what a view it had! It was incredible being so close to the castle and watching the sunset light hit the side of it walls. A great backdrop for a few more portraits!

Wowee, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! This day feels like forever ago…

I headed down to Edinburgh on the train this afternoon to go to Chris and Katherine’s Wedding Rehearsal, and then photograph the Edinburgh Theological Seminary’s end of year Awards Ceremony.

This Happy Chappy is the Principal of ETS, the father of one of my oldest and best friends, our first minister when we moved to Aberdeen almost 20 years ago and when my Dad passed away in 2001. He married my sister and her husband 11 years ago and he married Matthew and I back in 2016. He’s been there for all the big occasions and definitely deserves a bit of limelight on the blog. Just look at that smile!

Jasper and I had a wee road trip to Lendrick Muir on Saturday to join the Youth Conference for the day. We pitstopped in Dundee to pick up Rachel, and my bonnet almost flew off as I attempted to fill up my screen wash in the wildest of winds!

It was great to catch up with friends and join in on a few of the Youth Conference activities. Jasper had to spend most of the day in the car and he was an absolute trooper! We took him out for a good run around the grounds of Lendrick Muir, and many of his fans finally got to meet him after a year of seeing Instragram pictures of him!

I forced these two beauties to pose for a photo whilst out on our walk, in the bitter cold. They look surprisingly happy about it!

It’s funny how some days I do absolutely nothing and wonder what I’m going to take a photo of, and other days I do loads and completely forget to take a photo…this photo was taken around 8pm, on a catch up date with some of my College Girlies. We had a delicious dinner and then a delicious, decaf, beverage at Starbucks for dessert! Wild Monday night!

It always blows my mind when months go by between our catch ups, but it only feels like it’s been a few weeks since we last saw each other. Time is moving crazy fast! I’m very thankful for these friendships. I remember being so nervous to go to College…10 years (that can’t be right…surely it’s not been 10 years??) ago, worried I wouldn’t make any friends, because I wasn’t a party girl and much preferred drinking tea and eating a slice of cake, or two, that’s as wild as I got. It was most definitely an answer to prayer when I became friends with 4 lovely ladies, who also liked cake!

Happy Mother’s Day to this wonderful woman! We had Mum, Ali and Lena round for a delicious (if I do say so myself) roast beef dinner to celebrate Mum, and she ended up doing the dishes before and after lunch…she just can’t help herself.

I’m very thankful for all that my Mumsy has done for me over the last 28 (and 3/4) years so it is nice to repay her in even the smallest of ways, like a nice dinner with (half) the family, and a random plant from Marks & Spencer’s. Love you, Mumsy! Please can you look after Jasper next weekend?

We had a very chilled Saturday night, consisting of Indian Takeaway and GTA 5 with Iain, and then binge watching the final episodes of Stranger Things Season 1 when Iain headed back to his ship. It was a good night!

Retired Free Church Minister, Alex Macdonald, and his band put on a concert at our church on Saturday night to raise money for Aberdeen YMCA. After a day of slobbing on the sofa, due to cancelled plans, it was great to get out of the flat and enjoy some live music!

We kept our trip to Glasgow quiet as we were attending Matthew’s cousin, Alison’s, Surprise 30th Birthday at The Corinthian Club on Saturday night. She was most definitely happily surprised! It was such a wonderful night, filled with happy faces, laughter, chatting, dancing, delicious food, cake and lots and lots of jelly beans! I was debating whether I could just tip the whole jar of jelly beans in to the various pockets of my camera bag…I’m impressed to say that I managed to resist doing that, but also a little sad…I’d love some jelly beans right now!

Happy Birthday, Ali! In honour of you, I’m watching Harry Potter as I type this.

I was very excited to see this bottle of bath soak when we arrived at our Airbnb on Friday night. I’m quite the bath enthusiast, and the only thing wrong with our flat is it doesn’t have a bath, so I take every chance I get at soaking in the warm, bubbly goodness when we’re away.

We’ve become big fans of Airbnb this past year. It can be a cheaper and more homely alternative to staying in a hotel if you’re going on an adventure! We loved having our own wee flat in the middle of Merchant City in Glasgow for the weekend. It was only a few minutes walk from friends we were visiting and the venue we were going to for a surprise birthday on Saturday night, and it had a bath! So perfect!

We headed to Melt for a scrumptious late lunch this afternoon. If you’ve not checked it out yet, you must! Delicious grilled cheese toasties made from local produce. So yummy! Michelle was made redundant from the Oil & Gas Indsustry twice in one year so she decided to start up Melt, and now she’s an epic Boss Lady! I love these independent businesses that are popping up all over Aberdeen, especially when they’re dog friendly!
