It’s been a whole 11 days since my last bath, so tonight was full relaxation mode. I used my last wonderfully blue bath bomb from Simpsons, put on some piano music accompanied by the soothing tones of lapping waves, lit a yummy candle and let my mind and body rest.
Mum and I headed out to Beauly for a delicious lunch at Corner on the Square. I loved that they had a sign up saying “No, we don’t have WIFI, talk to each other”. We need a bit more of that these days! It was great to catch up with Mumsy, and weird to think that the next time we do that, God willing, there will be a squishy little baby in the pram beside us, or snuggled in our arms.
We popped in to a couple of shops after lunch. This photo was taken in the Old School Beauly, it’s like Aladdin’s cave; lots of different rooms filled with beautiful things. Once I start earning some pennies again, I look forward to spending some of them there!
Today I was asked to put a poster together for a ladies wear sale so I went on to a stock image website and had a look but nothing was catching my eye, so I decided to make my own! I lay my roll of art paper out on the living room floor and grabbed a few goodies from my wardrobe. My new pink maternity top from New Look, embroidered sandals from ASOS sale last year (no longer online but here’s something similar), the headscarf I got from Parfois in Portugal last summer and an Accessorize necklace (not the exact one I have but similar). I then took the image in to Photoshop and put text overlay in the white space at the side. It was a fun task for a Wednesday morning, and it was such a cute outfit I decided to wear it to my birthday lunch with my Mama!
White walls, orange rooftops, blue skies and turquoise waters, Portugal is pretty beautiful! On our last night we went in to Albufeira for dinner and a stroll around the streets of the old town. Matthew took me there last year and I got so excited when I heard the words “old town” and thought I’d get lots of pretty pictures of old buildings with beautiful doors lining little streets. Sadly it had changed a little bit since he was last there and the streets were now lined with tourist stalls, pubs and bars and swarming with drunken tourists. Not my cup of tea!
This time was a little bit better, we ate beside the beach and had a lovely view of the sea with the sun light getting more and more golden as it set. But I think next time we need to go further from the square and venture up to the residential areas to find the scenes I was hoping for.
Mmmm, he choose the perfect t-shirt for todays adventure! He just blends in with that beautiful blue Atlantic water.
We were all set for a lazy day, sunbathing by the pool, or chilling on inflatables in the pool, but ended up booking a spontaneous yacht trip for the afternoon! So it was still a pretty lazy day, the location just changed. I could’ve moved in to that yacht, it was perfection! I don’t think the interior was anything fancy, but sitting on the stern with my beau, at sea level, watching the wake disappear behind us, with the sun shining down, was my idea of chill. The perfect afternoon!
